New Trail under construction

With funds received from a generous donation, the Conservancy hired a professional trailbuilder to construct a trail in the northeast section of the Crafton Hills. Trailbuilding is a full-time profession, and requires very specific equipment (see below) for minimum impact on the environment. Our trail builder has written an amusing book about his experiences. For more on that, click on the icon below:

This trail connects existing Crafton Hills trails, and will eventually connect to the Santa Ana River Trail which runs from the San Bernardino National Forest at Crystal Creek to the Orange County coastline, as well as the many communities and other conservation areas along the way.

The trail was just built this past summer, so is still fairly "raw". In a few years, however, the foliage will grow back and the trail will be much less visible.
